Contest period runs from February 19, 2023 – May 14, 2023
The BEST way to recruit new members is for each individual member to talk about the K of L with others you meet and invite them to a meeting or event!
Council 7 is proud to be one of the largest councils in the United States, and we’ve got the potential to grow even more with your help! The Council 7 Officers challenge every member to recruit at least one new member this year! And, if you recruit a new or returning member from Sunday, February 19 through Sunday May 14, 2023, you may be eligible for a Membership Magic prize.
Here’s how it works.
If you know of a Lithuanian or even a non-Lithuanian who might be interested in joining with other Lithuanians and friends to carry on our culture, language, and customs, invite them to our next Council gathering. Let them know that we’re their Waterbury connection to the Lithuanian community! Remember…you don’t have to be Lithuanian to join! Membership is open to those who are of Lithuanian ancestry, their families and friends, and to those who feel they have a responsibility politically and socially to the Lithuanian homeland. If the person decides to join after meeting us, you’re eligible for a prize!
1st person to recruit a new/returning member - $15 Visa gift card
2nd person to recruit new/returning member - $10 Visa gift card
3rd person to recruit new/returning member - $5 Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks gift card
Person that recruits most members during the contest period - $30 Big Y gift card or a gas card (your choice!)
1. To qualify for a prize, the new/returning member must have paid the annual dues to the Financial Secretary on or before Sunday, May 14, 2023.
2. The member who recruited the person must be a member in good standing (e.g., 2023 dues have been paid).
3. The Recruiter should ask the new member to include their name in the memo line of the check. Alternatively, the Recruiter should let Linas Venclauskas (our Financial Secretary) know that s/he recruited the new member. You can tell him at a monthly meeting or simply email him at linas316@mac.com. This information must be provided no later than Sunday, May 14, 2023 to be eligible for a Membership Magic Prize.
Prizes will be awarded at the May 21st membership meeting. Results will be verified by the contest judges – the C-7 Financial Secretary and President.
